Last fall we undertook to expand and update our boat fleet for the 2012 season. We have received $30,000 in grants for a project valued at approximately $37,000.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Parks Foundation Calgary and their Amateur Sport Grant program, funded by the Calgary Flames and the Saddledome Foundation, we are buying 25 new boats , boats, paddles, helmets and spray decks! The Undercurrents and Aquabatics shops will be supplying the new equipment with delivery in April and May.
To store and transport our expanded fleet, we applied for and were granted $5,000 from the DIP (Development Initiatives Program) at Alberta Sport Recreation Parks and Wildlife Foundation (ASRPWF). We are truly grateful for their continued support. The application was for an enclosed all-aluminum cargo/boat trailer to compliment the open trailer we currently have. Final design needs are being identified in order to implement this project for this spring / summer programming.
